Our Ann B. Barshinger Personal Care Memory Support Center incorporates daily living routines into everyday patterns of living that enable Residents with early to mid-stage Alzheimer’s or dementia to function at their highest potential. In turn, our Residents feel a sense of purpose and well-being. Along with promoting individual life victories, the program also offers stimulating and educational group activities that encourage socialization, confidence, and camaraderie among friends living at St. Anne’s.
Memory Support Care is a distinct form of nursing that specifically caters to patients with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and other types of memory problems. St. Anne’s is blessed with two levels of memory support services – skilled nursing care and personal care.
The staff in Memory Care are specially trained to assist people with dementia or impaired cognition. Also, the physical layout and security of our Memory Care areas are designed to better suit Alzheimer’s and dementia patients, so that wandering behavior is minimized and the environment is pleasant and easy to navigate.
In the chance our residents would be hospitalized, a St. Anne’s liaison would be assigned to check in on their well-being and assist with formulating a plan for future care.
